
Fiji’s creative talent continues to shine, and Caleb Young is a rising star to watch.
A proud alumnus of Film Fiji’s Producer’s Accelerator Program, Caleb has recently been awarded Best Emerging Filmmaker at Doc Edge, an international documentary film festival. This recognition marks a significant milestone in his journey as a storyteller and filmmaker, and highlights the impact of Fiji’s growing screen sector.
Caleb’s award-winning work includes the films Sandbank and Primanavia, the latter inspired by the powerful real-life journey of its subject, and anchored by a message of faith and resilience. In a heartfelt note of thanks on social media, Caleb expressed gratitude to Doc Edge, his producing partners Lanza Coffin and Brosnan Erbsleben, and Film Fiji for supporting emerging filmmakers in Fiji.
“I am so incredibly grateful. This award is a huge encouragement to keep on making films and telling stories,” he shared.
